CSA Czech Airlines plans 10 new routes from Prague!
National carrier of the Czech Republic, CSA – Czech Airlines plans to launch 10 new routes in early future.
The company already announced 5 new routes to Billund (Denmark), Bilbao, Cork, Bologna and Oslo earlier this year which should start from Spring 2015.
Today the airline added 5 other destinations which should be launched in the coming months.
The 5 new destinations are Porto, Liverpool, Bordeaux, Stavanger and Athens.
CSA will operate Airbus A319 on all the new routes.
The destinations were also based on the low or non-existing competition on the route – there is no other airline flying on 3 out of 5 new routes.
Flights to Porto and Stavanger will start operating in May and are planned for summer season. If they prove to be successful the company will consider operating them also during winter.
The company is going through tough times because of decreasing amount of passengers and many cancelled routes to Russia.
Russian market used to be in the focus of the company for many years but financial crisis in the country led to massive decline in transported passengers from Russia.
The company already cancelled many regular filghts from Moscow which used to be one of the most popular routes and experienced 20% decline on this market.
First tickets for the new routes should be available in CSA’s booking system later this week.
