Czech Republic cancels all flights from Northern Italy and South Korea
Czech Republic announced that it cancels all flights from Northern Italy and South Korea.
Czech prime minister Andrej Babis together with minister of health Adam Vojtech announced cancellation of all flights from these areas due to spreading coronavirus COVID-19.
This measure applies to Milan Malpensa, Milan Bergamo, Bologna, Venice Treviso, Venice Marco Polo and Seoul (Korea) airports.
Flights to/from Korea will be cancelled from tomorrow for indefinite amount of time.
Cancellation of flights from Northern Italy must be first discussed with and approved by European Commission, the exact date when the ban starts is currently unclear.
European Union allows cancellation of flights from member countries due to extraordinary reasons like current coronavirus for period of 14 days.
Customers who already purchased tickets from these airports will be likely eligible for full refund of their ticket.
Czech Republic is the first country to take such measure in Europe.
Other countries currently cancel all big events, gatherings, conferences or festivals.
Switzerland forbid all events above 1000 attendees, France limits all public gatherings with maximum of 5000 people.
Most European countries have already cancelled all direct flights to China where coronavirus started spreading.
Number of deaths worldwide caused by coronavirus now reached more than 3 000 deaths.
