Qatar Airways announced 12 new routes: Prague, Kiev and Lisbon!
Qatar Airways has announced plans to fly to 26 new destinations this financial year, described by its CEO as a record for any carrier in the world.
The Doha-based airline will launch flights to another 12 cities by March 2018 in addition to the 14 already announced to be started in 2017.
Akbar Al Baker said routes to Cardiff, Thailand, Lisbon, Malaga, Lemnos (Greece, on a seasonal basis), Chittagong (Bangladesh), Accra (Ghana), Ivory Coast, Prague, Kiev and Mombassa (Kenya) will join the ever growing global network.
On taking delivery of the delayed Airbus A350, he added: “Hopefully, as promised, they (Airbus) deliver the aircraft to us earlier, the destinations that we have mentioned for 2018 will be shifted to 2017.
“We are short of nearly 11 aircraft which have been delayed, and if those 11 were delivered, all those 26 destinations will be fulfilled before the end of the Qatar Airways financial year, which is March 2018.”
Qatar Airways entering airports in Prague, Kiev and Lisbon will be a much welcomed news which will most likely shake the current monopoly of Etihad and Emirates and offer lower prices for all passengers.
We can clearly see this example on Qatar’s presence in Warsaw and especially Budapest, which regularly offer low fares to countries in Middle East, Australia and Asia.
For example the most popular connection from Budapest to Bangkok operated by Qatar Airways usually sells for prices around 400€, while the same route operated by Emirates from Prague costs between €500-€600 and Prague is also geographically further away.
The airline company operates flights to 144 destinations and has been awarded a five-star rating by Skytrax.
We also have a new Qatar Airways promo code if you plan to fly this airline and want to save a bit.
Let’s hope the delivery of new airplanes will happen as soon as possible and more passengers in Europe will be able to enjoy Qatar’s great service and competitive prices!
