Top 10 cities around the World to live in 2013
Economist Intelligence Unit, part of famous The Economist magazine, released a brand new report of Top 10 cities around the World to live in.
This is very popular list thatprovides scores for lifestyle challenges presented in 140 cities worldwide.
The ranking scores 140 cities on a scale of zero to 100 for each of 30 factors such as the quality of public healthcare or the threat of military conflict. These 30 values are then combined to create scores in five areas: stability, infrastructure, education, health care, and culture and environment. A weighted average of those five numbers gives each city its final score.
Here’s the list for year 2013:

- 2. Vienna
- 3. Vancouver
- 4. Toronto
- 5. Calgary
- 6. Adelaide
- 7. Sydney
- 8. Helsinki
- 9. Perth
- 10. Auckland
Melbourne keeps on #1 spot for third year in a row with Vancouver being a stable top performer for years as well. It is interesting to see so many cities in Australia in Top 10 list.
The other major cities around the world ranked followingly: Paris (16), Tokio (18), Berlin (21), London (55), New York (56) or Moscow (70).
The worst cities to live in on this list are Karachi in Pakistan and Damascus in Syria, mostly because of violent conflicts and poor safety and stability.
