Wizz Air will start allocating seats from May!
Wizz Air released a big news today: the low-cost company will start allocating seats for the passengers on all flights from May.
It will apply to selected routes from May 4, but will be introduced to all Wizz Air routes by May 19.
The allocated seat will be assigned for free starting from April 8. You can of course pay extra to select the seat you want, which creates additional revenue stream for the airline.
It should be possible to assign or change the seat for a small fee starting at €1 until 3 hours prior the departure of your flight.
Premium seats with extended leg room will be of course available for higher fee than standard seats.
The highest price for selected seat should be rather steep €23, however Wizz Air announced it will also lower priority boarding fee to €2.
Passengers with Wizz Premium and Wizz Privilege Pass will be able to choose the seat for free.
This change means you will no longer need to rush and wait in the long line at your gate just to get a better seat.
Both major competitors in low-cost segment, Easyjet and Ryanair, already assign the seats for their passengers.
Wizz Air flies on 360 routes from 110 airports across 37 countries.
